About The Third Chamber 2015

Members of VoiceOver 2015 contribute to different projects. One of the main projects is The Third Chamber 2015.

What is The Third Chamber 2015?
The Third Chamber 2015 consists of 50 Dutch people and 20 non-Dutch members. The 20 Non-Dutch members are selected from the VoiceOver group. They work together on innovative proposals to improve International Cooperation on a specific theme. In addition they share their ideas with Dutch public and politicians.

For the period 2009-2010, the theme is: “possibilities for new technologies in the field of development cooperation”. For example, what role can technology play for food production, energy & climate and communication?

Why The Third Chamber 2015?
Goals of The Third Chamber 2015 are:
* to increase knowledge of the participants 
* to involve and inform Dutch public and politicians 
* to give a voice to people from developing countries in de Dutch debate about international cooperation

Selection and role of VoiceOver 2015
20 members of VoiceOver have been selected to join The Third Chamber as a full participant. They spend about three weeks in the Netherlands.

It’s no longer possible to apply for Third Camber 2009-2010.

All other VoiceOver members are invited to join The Third Chamber 2015 discussions and think of and vote for proposals through the forum. They function as advisors to The Third Chamber 2015. Their experiences will enable the Dutch to compare their proposals to what people from developing countries consider important and realistic.

Programme 
The first part of the year Third Chamber members get informed about the theme and work on their proposals.

After this the 20 Non-Dutch members present their vision on new technologies. They involve the knowledge about this topic of their region and VoiceOver 2015.

The Third Chamber members campaign for their proposals to get as much attentions as possible. Through the website all VoiceOver members and the Dutch public can vote for ‘the best and most innovative’ proposal. Proposals with enough support will be presented on the Plenary Session.
