14-11-2011 06:37Taking Voiceover2015 to The Next LevelI have a big feeling that discussions on how o take Voiceover to thew next level should start. This should involve all the stake holders including members, staff and other interested organizations and individuals. I propose that during the Voiceover week next year, there should be a whole day set aside to discuss Voiceover and how it should look like in the future. We need to discuss, lobby, advocate, explore and engage all parties to ensure that this is realized. I have been sharing over the issue on the forum for some time now and i believe it is time we all get involved. I feel that Voiceover is well placed to play an important role in making the world a better place to live. Nothing comes so easily so we need to start talking about it now. The name, the events, the activities,the membership etc places Voiceover2015 in strategic position to be able to lead from the front. I have that big feeling. What do you think? Works directly with rural communities for empowerment, livelihood improvement, Peace, Promoting culture and Cultural tourism |

Currently NCDO is making some big changes, amongst others in the online strategy. Therefore, we also have to think about what to do with VoiceOver. A great opportunity to improve the impact of the network! As you have noticed, the forum we currently have, is not the best way to interact with the members of the network and the Dutch people in general. Instead, we believe we should 'be where the people are'. That's why in the future, we want to use social media a lot more than we do now. Discussion will take place on our Facebook page and via Twitter. Do you think that's a wise decision? |

04-03-2012 18:56 Re: Taking Voiceover2015 to The Next Level I agree with both of you Ezekiel and Anne-Katrien. As I see there should be some changes in the further strategy of VoiceOver discussions. I would like to suggest the following. Every month one member of VoiceOver member should suggest a topic for discussion. The topics of course should be within the aims and frames of VoiceOver 2015. The whole month should be dedicated to the discussion of that topic and the ideas of all the members should be in one place and centered on the certain topic. I think this is a better of of discussion when there are a lot of oppinions on the certain topic. The truth and best solutions are born in the result of diversity of opinions.What do you say to my idea? 30-03-2012 15:55 Re: Taking Voiceover2015 to The Next Level I totally agree that taking VoiceOver 2015 to the next level means using social media platforms more. This will definitely increase our capacity to communicate issues, which will become more effective, fast, and have a wider reach. I have another suggestion to make: can we have Voiceover Week twice a year instead of once? This gives us a chance to tackle more issues and get more people involved. I believe face-to-face interactions tend to have more meaning and lasting impact to those involved. I imagine that the logistics and organization that goes into holding an international gathering is not that simple, but we can think about it and see if it works. I also like the ideas that have come up lately, e.g. writing blogs/articles on different development issues. This is another way of taking this initiative to another level. I am working on my article right now... Change takes place internally first then externally, in our great big world! www.ywwscribe.wordpress.org |

Of late i am able to contribute through Voiceover facebook which i could not do last year. I think social media is the answer. Best of luck and let us all work towards achieving this change. Anne-Katrien should be in the lead but with all our support and encouragement.
