my motivation to participate : My background is in media and communications in an African context, which I have transposed into the NGO environment. I was one of the first SA students to study in Holland on an Erasmus bursary, and would like to continue my links with the country. In particular, I have a good understanding of the development needs of Africa and how the smart implementation of ICT and good communications can meet many of these objectives.
what I want to work on : Health + Business/ Finance + Education + Sports
what I want to work on more specific : My skills are in communication, relationship and partnership building and management. I have a good knowledge of the use of ICT in Education through my work with Digital Links, as well as in the disability arena (I have worked with the RNID and RNIB). Currently I work with loveLife, the worlds largest HIV / AIDS NGO, tackling the epidemic by tackling risk tolerance. This centres on tackling the mindset of generations, creating opportunities and a sense of identity amongst young people. A unique and progressive approach to the HIV epidemic. I would like to work on initiatives where these experiences can contribute.
my personal slogan : Never stop exploring. Stolen from North Face, but very true for all levels of life.
